Usage of Firebird
We started using Firebird in September 2002. Since then it has become our main RDBMS for our business software. Our application, 'FACILE', is available as a desktop edition (stand-alone: Windows and embedded Firebird) as well as a Client-Server edition (Windows/Linux server). It has been deployed on a number of different platforms and the system scales well from a single-user environment to a complex enterprise-wide solution.
Why we use Firebird
Rock-solid stability and reliability, online backups, advanced features (full transaction control, stored procedures...), embedded version and it's open source!
