IBBackupSurgeon is a tool that can be used to read and save data from corrupted Firebird or InterBase backup files. To access corrupted backup files it uses its own direct access layer. Using this tool a database administrator can browse a backup file, select tables you need and then extract them to a new or existing database. There are two versions of this tool that are available, a basic version and a professional version. The basic version is enough to save data from a simple corrupted backup, whilst the professional version allows a database administrator to re-use the structure of the backup to save data from a badly corrupted backup to a new files. IBBackupSurgeon allows you to read and extract all the database metadata, including stored procedures text, triggers, computed fields and etc. Metadata is represented in raw text and SQL.

Three versions of IBBackupSurgeon are available: Basic, Professional and a Site License.
