There are two items you need in order to run IBReplicator:

1. The Replication Manager (latest), which runs on any Windows platform.
2. The Replication Server, which is different for each Operating System.

The Windows Replication Server and Manager installation contains the Replication Manager executable, as well as all help files and documentation. The Replication Server is available for 3 different platforms:

Windows 95/98/NT/2000/XP/2003
Linux on X86
Solaris V2.5/6, 7 or 8

You will need to install an Evaluation License (see readme.txt) in order to evaluate the product, and you will then need to buy licenses in order to enable the product for a production environment.

Please download the latest Replication Server and Manager for Windows, and then the Server of your choice. IBReplicator V2.5 and V3.x supports all versions of InterBase V5.x, V6.x, V7.x, 2007, 2009 and Firebird V1.x and Firebird 2.x

Latest Versions

Firebird V1.x, Firebird V2.x, InterBase V5.x, V6.x, V7.x, 2007, 2009

Note:
If you use Firebird and IBReplicator V3.x, you should probably re-install Firebird so it is NOT using "Generate Client library as GDS32.dll for Legacy app" and is using fbclient.dll. This allows IBReplicator to take advantage of the some of the more advanced Firebird features. Use fbclient.dll with versions of Firebird V1.5+

Important
IBReplicator V3.x introduces new license keys, which are incompatible with old keys. Upgrades to new keys for IBReplicator V3.x can be bought via the online shop at 25% of the normal cost. Providing we have proof of purchase of the original keys. We will continue to sell pre V3.x keys to all those who wish to purchase them.

Because of backwards compatibility issues, IBReplicator V2.5 makes use of the Generate Client library as GDS32.dll for Legacy app. Support feature of the Firebird installation routine. So please make sure that this is checked on your Firebird install.

More details are available in the Release Notes

Important
If you plan to use the new version of IBReplicator, please take copies of your configuration databases before installing. The Replication Manager will automatically upgrade old configuration databases on opening. This new configuration database is not compatible with the old Replication Server (V1.5x/V2.x).

Order Licenses

How does the licensing work?

In the simplest scenario, you will need to buy at least two licenses, one for the Source database, and one for the Target database. Since the source database is typically on the same machine where the Replication Server is running this means one "Replication Server License" and one "Replicant" license.

For each machine that is a Replication Server, one "Replication Server" (or "Replication Server Lite") license must be bought. For each Source or Target database, one "Replicant License" must be bought.

The "Replication Server License" (or Lite) is counted as a "Replicant License" as well, so for example, a machine that acts as the Replication Server, and has a single Source database, and which is replicating to a remote Target database, will need only two licenses, not three, i.e a "Replication Server License" and a "Replicant" license.

No database needs to be licensed more than once. If a Source or Target database is being controlled by more than one instance of the Replication Server, then only one "Replicant" need be bought for that database. This license will be installed in all configuration databases involved.

The difference between Replication Server Licenses and Replication Server Lite licenses

The Lite license has been created primarily for laptops which have the Replication Server software installed, so that they may synchronize with an organization's main database. Since laptops are single user machines, this license is substantially cheaper. Single user refers to a situation where only applications on the laptop access databases on the laptop i.e. there are no remote connections to the laptop's InterBase or Firebird server. The Replication Server license is intended for multi-user servers, which may be replicating to and between multiple remote servers.

The Licensing Matrix

IBReplicator Replicant licenses are available in various quantities. A "Replicant-10" license consists of 10 licenses, which allows a Replication Server to replicate between 10 different databases. Similarly for the other quanities. The reduced pricing for larger numbers of licenses represents a discount for bulk purchase.

The license fee structure is as follows:

Server License V2.5 $120.00
Upgrade to V3.x $50.00
Server License V3.x $150.00
Server License - 10 V2.5 $1,080.00
